The traditional manual hot melt cutting method is very popular for cutting plush materials due to its many advantages such as hot sealing cutting mode, low cost, and high production.
But the manual workers need to bare holding several kilos of iron templates and standing all day. And the ventilation system is usually poor and workers need to breathe the poisonous smoke generated and withstand the working environment of over 40℃in in summer and minus 10℃in winter without an air conditioner. So it’s getting difficult for factory managers to recruit manual workers. How to balance and solve this dilemma?
KASU K1810-S4-H Hot Iron Cutting Machine is specially designed by KASU Laser to solve problems. It retains all the advantages of this hot iron cutting process, yet perfectly solves the high requirements for manual labor. The digital cutter is so easy to operate and it can automatically complete the whole process of feeding and cutting, saving manpower, materials, and time.

Inside the KASU K1810-S4-H Hot Iron Cutter — Hot-Cut Production Engineering Highlights
The blocks below show the engineering decisions behind the KASU K1810-S4-H Hot Iron Cutter — each illustrates one specific heat-control component, transport mechanism, or production advantage that defines hot-cut performance. Topic-by-topic below: High Precision Corrective Active Feeding System, Smart Hot Iron Template Fixing Device, and Integrated Design Especially for Plush Industry.

High Precision Corrective Active Feeding System
An important reason why KASU’s Hot Iron Cutting Machine is widely used by the plush toy industry is that it has a high-precision corrective active feeding system designed specifically for the industry.
Unlike the general active feeding system controlled by motors and sensors, the system designed by KASU is like two robotic hands, which can simulate the hand-pulling action of operators. No matter how untidy the fabric rolled edge is, it can quickly pull the fabric to the correct position within 1 second, thus guaranteeing that the whole cutter can continuously feed and continuously cut fabrics without producing any waste.

Smart Hot Iron Template Fixing Device
The hot iron template fixing device of this cutter machine has gone through several rounds of design improvement and finally formed the current version of this clever design.
The head is made of a high-strength galvanized iron plate that can be lifted and lowered. Four copper sleeves with several strong magnets are fixed to the hot iron template, and then the ironing template is fixed to the iron plate by strong magnets and moves up and down with the head.
In the middle, if you want to repair the ironing template, the template can be removed with a little force. After repair, it can be put back into the head to continue to cut without any error. You don’t need to adjust any parameters to make sure the repaired template stays in its original position.

Integrated Design Especially for Plush Industry
KASU’s Hot Iron Cutting Machine is based on a PLC control system, no computer is needed, and specially designed for the plush industry.
It integrates the automatic voltage regulating device so that the worker can easily adjust the temperature of the ironing templates according to different thickness plush fabrics and different sizes of the ironing templates.

Frequently Asked Questions About the KASU K1810-S4-H Hot Iron Cutter
What is a hot iron cutter, and how does the K1810-S4-H differ from a laser cutter?
A hot iron cutter uses a heated metal tip (a ‘hot iron’) instead of a laser beam to melt and cut synthetic fabrics. The K1810-S4-H mounts four hot iron heads on a CNC gantry â the same 1800 Ã 1000 mm frame as the K1810-S4 laser, but with thermal cutting instead. Advantages over laser on plush toy and hat-brim production: cuts thicker materials (10+ mm plush fabric), seals edges by melting rather than vaporizing (less smoke), and runs without a chiller. Lower running cost on the right material category.
Which industries are the K1810-S4-H hot iron cutter's sweet spot?
Top 2025 export segments: Chinese, Vietnamese, and Indian plush-toy factories (cutting deep-pile faux-fur and felt); Mexican and Turkish hat manufacturers (brim and lining template cutting); shoe-pattern shops in Italy and Brazil (thick non-woven and felt liner); and Korean / Japanese plush-character merchandise producers. The hot iron’s strength is on thick (3-15 mm) synthetic plush, felt, foam, and non-woven materials where a laser would smoke too much.
How does the K1810-S4-H's four-head design accelerate plush toy batch production?
Like the laser K1810-S4 sibling, the K1810-S4-H runs four parallel hot iron heads. On plush-toy panel production (e.g., 200 identical teddy-bear body panels per batch), it cuts in roughly one-quarter the time of a single-head hot iron cutter. KASU customers in Yangzhou plush-toy clusters typically run two-shift production hitting 1,200-1,800 panels per day on a single K1810-S4-H.
What materials does the hot iron handle that a CO2 laser can't?
| Material | Hot iron K1810-S4-H | CO2 laser K1810-S4 |
|---|---|---|
| Deep plush (10 mm pile) | â Clean cut, sealed edge | Smokes heavily |
| Felt 8 mm | â Clean | Char on thick |
| EVA foam 12 mm | â Clean | Acceptable to 8 mm |
| Hat-brim non-woven 3 mm | â Sealed | â But more smoke |
| Printed fabric (thin) | Risk of melt mark | â Preferred |
| PU leather | Acceptable | â Preferred |
What's the maintenance and consumable cost on a K1810-S4-H hot iron cutter?
The hot iron tips are wear components â typical replacement every 200-400 working hours depending on material (faster on abrasive deep-pile, slower on felt). Replacement tips cost roughly $5-15 each, four per machine. Compared to the laser K1810-S4 (CO2 tube replacement at 8,000-10,000 hrs, ~$300-500 per tube), the hot iron has more frequent but cheaper consumables â roughly equal lifetime cost. No water chiller needed = lower power bill and simpler installation.
