Do I need to know the exact machine model before requesting a quote?
No. Just describe the end product you are cutting (e.g., denim jeans cutting, embroidered patches, acrylic signage 5mm thick). Our engineer reverse-engineers the right machine — power, working area, vision system, feeder type — based on your throughput and material.
Can I get a free cutting sample on my actual material?
Yes. Mail us 0.5–1 m² of your material (or your specific part dimensions). We run a free cutting test at our Suzhou factory and send back: (1) HD video of the cut, (2) physical cut samples for your QC, (3) recommended power/speed settings. Sample turnaround: 3–5 working days after material arrives.
What is the price range for a KASU industrial laser cutter?
From $4,800 USD (FOB Shanghai) for entry-level CO2 models up to $120,000+ for large-format vision-camera systems with auto-feeders. Most fabric / leather cutters fall in $8,500–$28,000. Final price depends on working area, laser source (CO2 / Fiber / UV), automation level, and OEM options.
Do you ship to my country? What are the customs and import details?
We ship to 200+ countries worldwide. Default Incoterm is FOB Shanghai — we load the container, you handle ocean freight + import customs. We also offer CIF (port of destination) and DDP (door-to-door) on request. We provide CE / FDA certificates, commercial invoice and packing list for your customs broker. We can also share the HS code we normally declare under (84561190) as a reference only — the final tariff classification is determined by the importer and the local customs broker under your own country’s rules, so please have it confirmed on your side before shipment.
Can KASU build a custom machine (OEM / ODM)?
Yes. We accept OEM (your logo + private label) from MOQ 1 unit. ODM (custom mechanical design — bed size, feeder type, working area, software integration) typically requires MOQ 3 units and adds 10–20 days to the standard 15-day lead time. NDA can be signed before sharing your design.
What support do I get after the machine arrives?
Free lifetime remote support via WhatsApp / WeChat / Email. On-site engineer visit available (you cover travel; service is free). Replacement consumables (laser tubes, focus lenses, belts) at factory cost for 5 years. We also send annual maintenance reminders so your machine stays at spec.
What should we send you so the quotation matches what we actually need?
Describing the end product gets you to the right machine family; these nine items get you to the right configuration: material and, where it is coated or laminated, what the coating is; thickness or GSM; sheet or roll format; roll width and roll weight if it is roll stock; finished part size; target output per shift; whether the cut line has to follow a printed or embroidered graphic; your destination port or airport; and your country.
Roll weight and the coating question are the two most often left out, and both change the answer. Roll weight decides whether a feeder can physically handle your stock; a coating decides the cutting behaviour more than the base material does. If you are unsure of either, send a sample instead of a guess — a cut test settles in one round what a specification argument takes three emails to reach.
What do FOB, CIF and CFR actually include?
They define who arranges and pays for each leg of the journey, and — the part most often misread — where the risk passes from us to you. FOB means we deliver the crates on board at the port of shipment and you arrange the main carriage and import clearance. CFR means we pay the freight to your destination port, but the risk still passes to you when the goods are loaded at origin. CIF is CFR plus marine insurance arranged by us, at the minimum cover the rules require.
Two things none of them cover: import duties and taxes, and destination-side charges such as terminal handling, storage or local clearance fees, unless the quotation explicitly says otherwise. Full definitions, including DDP and the documents involved, are in the trade and shipping terms glossary.
Can we choose the shipping method, or use our own freight forwarder?
Yes to both. Sea freight in a container is the normal route for a full machine; air freight is possible for smaller machines and for urgent spare parts, at a cost that usually only makes sense for parts. If you have a nominated forwarder, tell us at the order stage and we will work to their booking instructions instead of ours — that is common for buyers who consolidate shipments or have negotiated rates.
What changes with that choice is who holds the relationship when something goes wrong in transit. If your forwarder books it, they are the ones you chase for a delay or a damaged crate, and we support with documents and photographs from our side. Decide this before booking rather than after, because it is awkward to reassign mid-shipment.
What do we need to prepare on site before the machine arrives?
Five things, and the time to check them is before shipment, not on delivery day. Floor space — not just the machine footprint but working clearance around it and a route from your loading door to its final position; electrical supply matching the machine’s requirement; compressed air for air assist; water cooling, which on CO2 machines means a chiller with somewhere to sit; and an exhaust route to open air, which is the one people discover too late because it involves the building rather than the machine.
Per-model packing dimensions, gross weight and power supply are listed for every published model in the machine dimensions and power comparison table — check the crate size against your door and lift before the container arrives, not after. Certification documents your site or insurer may ask for are on the certifications page.
What happens if a crate arrives damaged or is missing?
Photograph it before you unpack, and note the damage on the delivery paperwork before you sign. That signature is what an insurer or carrier will point to later, and a clean signature on a damaged crate makes a claim much harder regardless of who was at fault.
Then send us the photographs with the packing list. Before each delivery our QC records the machine’s condition and the contents of the toolbox and archives it, so we can compare what left the factory against what arrived and tell you which side of the journey the problem occurred on. Who carries the risk in transit follows the trade term on your order — which is another reason to be clear about FOB, CFR or CIF at the quotation stage rather than at the claim stage.
