Becoming a KASU Laser Distributor: What Partners Ask First
Territory, training, spare parts, after-sales split and own-brand supply — answered plainly. Click any item to expand.
What does a KASU distributor partnership actually cover?
Four things, and it is worth being specific because “partnership” means different things to different suppliers. Technical training for your engineers so a machine can be commissioned and debugged locally rather than by video every time. Spare-part supply for the wear items your customers will need first — tube, lenses, mirrors, belts — so a stopped machine is a shipping question, not a sourcing project. Sample cutting support, meaning you can send a prospect’s material to us and get a cut sample and parameters back to close the deal. And OEM or ODM work where the machine needs your branding or a structural change to fit the market you sell into.
What we ask in return is the part most suppliers leave unsaid: someone on your side who can install, train and do first-line diagnosis. A partner who can only forward emails does not give the end customer a better experience than buying direct.
Do you give exclusive territory rights?
Territory arrangements are discussed case by case, and we would rather be straight about how that decision is made than promise exclusivity in a first email. What we look at is demonstrated coverage in the market — existing customers in the industry, an engineer who can service the machine, and the ability to hold a demo unit or at least spare parts locally.
Exclusivity given to a partner who cannot support it hurts the end customers in that market and the brand with them, so it is something we grow into with a partner rather than hand out at the start. Tell us which industries and regions you already sell into, and we will tell you honestly what kind of arrangement makes sense.
We are a converter or factory, not a machine dealer — can we still resell?
Yes, and a good share of our partners started that way. They bought a machine for their own production, learned the process on their own materials, and then began supplying machines to others in the same industry — which turns out to be a stronger position than a general machinery dealer has, because they can talk about the material rather than the spec sheet.
If that is your situation, the useful conversation is about which materials and applications you already know well. Depth in one industry sells more machines than breadth across ten.
Who handles after-sales — you or us?
It is split, and the split should be agreed before the first machine ships rather than during the first fault. We provide detailed hands-on videos and written tutorials, and our overseas after-sales engineers give online chat, video and messaging support. Local installation, operator training and first-line diagnosis sit best with the partner, because they are on the same time zone and can be on site the same day.
In some countries we already have local dealers who provide on-site training and after-sales service. If you are evaluating a territory where one exists, we will tell you rather than let you find out later.
Can we sell under our own brand?
Yes. OEM covers your logo, brand colours and multi-language labelling, and is available from a single unit rather than a container order. ODM goes further into structural customisation — bed size, feeder type, safety cover, and machine layout for a specific application — where the standard range does not fit the market you sell into.
The factory and the engineering behind that customisation are described on the manufacturing page, and the certifications your market may ask for are listed on the certifications page. If you already have a specific application in mind, send it through the contact page and an engineer will come back on feasibility.
